Arrestex HP – Chainsaw Protective Fabric

arrestexArrestex HP is a high-performance chainsaw protective fabric.

Traditionally chainsaw protective fabrics works by clogging the sprocket with hundreds of tough polyester, polypropylene or nylon fibres. Clogger R&D team decided to go a step further and developed a high-performance fabric. It incorporates super high strength and cut resistant fibres: the protective pad’s performance is significantly improved. Without adding weight. Or bulk.

ARRESTEX HP both clogs and resists cutting

ARRESTEX HP is certified for use in many countries. Please refer to the Standards and Certification section for more information.

Arrestex FR – Fire-resistant Chainsaw Protective Fabric

While “HP” stands for High Performance, “FR” stands for Fire-Resistant. This special chainsaw fabric was developed to be used in environments where there are arc or fire hazards; or when the regulations require to wear non-melting garments.
If you are working in those environments, we urge you to choose the right gear to protect you. Arrestex FR is the only truly fire-resistant chainsaw protection we know of. Make the right choice

ARRESTEX FR is also certified for use in many countries. Please refer to the Standards and Certification section for more information.

If you have any questions about the need to wear fully fire-resistant protection or the regulations around arc protection please contact us.

Fireshield Fabric

fire-shieldFireshield is a flame resistant fabric consisting of 88% cotton, 12% nylon treated with Proban ®.  Proban ® is a chemical treatment that does not wash or wear out and will last for the lifetime of the garment. Fireshield meets AS2755 Parts 1 & 2 for flame resistance.

In addition to excellent flame resistant properties, Fireshield offers outstanding Electrical Arc Thermal Performance (ATP Value).  Many companies are becoming aware of the hazards associated with working around high tension power lines and the possibility of an electrical arc flashover and as a result have adopted USA’s minimum benchmark for ATP value of clothing of 8.0 cal/cm² (NFPA Code 70E, Category 2).  Clothing made with Fireshield meets this requirement.  Fireshield has an ATP value of 9.1 cal/cm² when tested according to ASTM F1959.

With its nylon content, Fireshield also offers higher tear strength and abrasion resistance to similar 100% cotton fabrics.

FR Flex Fabric (Polo Shirts)

fr-flexFR Flex is a lightweight, breathable, stretch, Proban treated cotton.

This fabric has an ATP Value of 11 cal/cm² which exceeds NFPA Code 70E Category 2 requirements for garments to have an ATP Value of 8 cal/cm². Tested to FTMS 191A 5903 for flame resistance. Ultraviolet Protection Factor (UPF) Category Rating of Excellent (50+).
