All Clogger chainsaw protective garments are certified by Bureau Veritas NZ Ltd to the Australian and New Zealand standard, AS/NZS 4453.3:1997. Testing to this standard is done at a chain speed of 20 meters/second.
Some products are also certified for use in North America, and this is stated on the products’ description page. Clogger chainsaw protective garments are certified by U/L to ASTM F1897-14 for USA and to BNQ 1923-450-1 for Canada. In addition, they meet the worksafe BC Standard as set out in OHSR Section 8-21 (2). These North American regulations specify minimum chainspeed ratings:
- ASTM F1897-14 = 2750 ft/min
- BNQ 1923-450-1 = 3000 ft/min
- Worksafe BC = 3300 ft/min.
Most of Clogger chainsaw protective garments are made using Arrestex HP which has a rating of 3500 feet/minute. The Arcmax range of garments are made with Arrestex FR and it has an even higher rating at 3600 feet/minute.
Clogger’s fire resistant range, Arcmax, complies with additional standards. For arc protection, the outer fabric rating is 8.2 calories/cm2, which is higher than the minimum level specified by HRC category 2, of 8 calories/cm2. For retroreflectivity, this range complies with AS/NZS 4602, ANSI 109 and Z96.
Product certification by these internationally renowned companies is your assurance that each garment is made to the same strict specifications as those garments originally submitted for testing. To gain certification status, we are required to demonstrate an ongoing testing procedure, along with regular audits to check documentation and other internal processes.
All this assures you that the product you purchase meets and exceeds the requirements set out by the regulatory standards.
